Our client is a global leading automation & technology solutions provider, working within the food, FMCG, ecommence and automated distribution industries.

Due to global growth in Ecommerce and automation in food distribution, along with securing significant automation projects, amongst multiple clients in the UK, they are looking for a number of Electrical Design Engineers to join their team.

A role that will provide fantastic stability and opportunities to grow within a recently formed joint business venture, that has the backing of a multi-billion PLC company.

Role & Responsibilities:

Managing work across multiple engineering fields, coordinating with mechanical & electrical engineers, design teams, software engineers, procurement, logistics and site implementation
Create electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical
Liaise with procurement and organise the manufacturing of complex automation systems, including robotics, sortation systems, conveyors, and materials handling
Design electrical systems – control panels & PLC’s
Selection of electrical components for build
Preparation of BOM’s, manufacturing & installation specifications
Work closely with project managers on design availability to meet project deadlines
Planning of electrical & controls installations
Testing & commissioning on customer sites
Preparation of validation & test documentation

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Ideally have a degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant electrical design experience
Experienced in the design of internal workings of electrical control panels & selection of various components – motors, sensors, switches, wiring, contactors, inverters, circuitry
Knowledge of electrical safety and industry wiring standards
Previously have worked in automation & material handling systems ideally
Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical
Beneficial to have experience of PLC configuration, programming & commissioning
Overlap knowledge of mechanical appreciation
Ability to work as part of a projects team, across cross functional departments
Flexible character to work in the office/on site and from own – manage own time effectively
Demonstrate a technical proficiency in machine controls & safety
Experienced in the selection & configuration of Variable Speed Drives (VSD’s)
