Due to an increase in customer demand in our clients business, they are now recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter to join their team in the Prescot Area on a 12hr Days pattern position.
This role offers the opportunity to work for a true independent market leader and established global brand. With progressive training and development this role allows potential promotion in the longer term. With a long established presence on a UK wide scale and a consistent order book this opportunity will appeal to a candidate looking for job security and a technical challenge.
Role Description
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions in order that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner- Audit of compliance to operational procedures and instructions
- To assist the Cell Leaders in ensuring that the training and development of all workers within the Cell work to their role requirements- Monthly Housekeeping Audits. Training Matrix
- To ensure all operational efficiency targets (OEE, RFT, OTIF, etc) are within agreed targets. Working with the Cell Leaders to understand route cause for continuous improvement when targets are not met.
- To set unproven jobs and create a robust process and informing Shop Floor Manager of the cycle time to input into the system to determine the job is paying appropriate hourly rate. Train other people in the section on how to do that job. Cycle times, operational metrics, hourly rate per job.
- Create the programme on a fixed template to ensure the machine can run to appropriate metrics.
- Responsible for updating the tooling sheet, backing the job into the system to upload with appropriate detail and cycle time information to set as standard process.
- To ensure that toolkit’s are prepared and available for the following day and any tooling issues are raised with the Cell Leader.
Skills and Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of the machine (Mori Seiki, Wasino, Mazak) and controls (Fanuc, Mazatrol) used within the section.
- Must be able to programme (offline & online) and edit programs on the machines within the section.
- Create blocks of program to adjust / improve machine process.
- Good understanding of safe working practices
- Must be able to work on own and within the structure of a team.
- Ability to listen to people and give instruction.
- 4-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
